Tomatoes and Dans Birthday

We picked tomatoes the other day. I've already canned two batches and it looks like I'll be canning more.
We celebrated Dans birthday today by going to the seven feathers casino. Oh darn! We forgot to take Dan. Well he should be getting used to that by now. Hope you had a great birthday today Dan, hope you didn't spend it sitting on the porch.
We stopped at a produce stand on the way home, got some corn for 10 for $1.00. And some cantalope for 3 for $1.00.

Ahhhhh!

This goat has driven me crazy. If I check into a insane asylum now and with months and months of treatment I may be able to live a normal life. Or I could just get rid of the goat. Nah she's to cute. Just give me my teddy bear and leave me alone.

Recipe blog done, whew!

Thanks goodness that the previous blogs are thru, it was exhausting.
I promise to post about more interesting stuff now, like bees and bats and haunted trees.
You've seen this before but I made a few changes. I like it. The neighbors drive by this every day but never comment about how cool it is. In fact we used to chat but now they roll up there window and zoom by. I wave but they look the over way. I should give all the trees here a face, it would be the friendlest forrest anywhere.

Done

I baked at 425 for 20 minutes. You can brush with an egg wash for a pretty loaf. This is an italian loaf.

Loaves done proofing

Here is the bread after 1 hour and 50 minutes. The book says to let it rise for 2 to 3 hours. I preheated the oven to 425 and in she goes.

Loaves

Make the dough into 2 loaves. I put some flour down as it was real sticky. Now let it rise again.
This is the rest of the stuff mixed in with the biga. Its pretty wet. Now let rise for about an hour.

Here's the Biga

Here's what the biga looks like in the morning. Now I'll add the rest of the mix.

Do Not Attempt

This is my blog, it is only a blog, do not attempt to adjust your computer, it will return to normal when you leave. Please do not wave your hands about and keep small children with there parents. I am not responsible for anyone reading this blog, read at your own risk. Thank you for your support.

The biga, top part of the recipe

Top part of the recipe, I mix it and leave in the same bowl, in the morning I'll add the rest and continue the blog. Follow along for some good bread.

OK don't lose this

Here is the beginning......

Bat House

A few months ago we had bats living on the porch. squeezed in between a couple of 2 by 4s. I kicked them out one night and felt so guilty about being the Bat Terminator that I built this bat house. They were leaving bat droppings everywhere.
Anyway, I built this cool bat house from directions on the internet. People really care about bats, I thought I was weird, well I am but so are other bat people.
I went out tonight and bats are living in my bat house. I'm so happy. I didn't build it exactly like the ones on the internet, I figure the bats don't have little bat rulers, and bat specs. I hope they stay here all year long.

Snappy tomatoes

Rain and cooler weather is coming so we picked some tomatoes to let them finish ripening indoors. Lots of tomatoes.
